Why am I running?
Every day it gets harder for families to keep living in Chelsea, even though they’re working harder than ever. Our children need more resources during the school day and after. Our small businesses are being gutted by inflation. I’m running for City Council because I have the experience and commitment we need to create a better Chelsea. Working together, we can make sure Chelsea remains a city where we can afford to live, have access to good opportunities, and be treated with dignity and respect.
As a School Committee member, I helped to bring millions of new state dollars that are now flowing into our schools, ensuring a bright future for my son and daughter, and all our children.
As your City Councilor I have advocated to make more housing available in Chelsea, to bring new businesses to our city, and to have a responsive City Hall for all of us. I want to build on our efforts to make sure you and your family can stay and thrive in Chelsea!
What I Have Accomplished
Serving Chelsea continues to be one of the biggest privileges of my life.
As your City Councilor:
Advocated for the creation of a city master plan, so we can have a clear vision of what we want Chelsea to grow into over the next decades
Supported new business and housing developments to grow our tax base
Helped residents in accessing City services and quickly addressing problems
In our first term, saw a decrease in the average homeowner tax bill!
As a School Committee member:
Brought together 130 leaders from across Massachusetts to fight for and win the funding our students were promised after it was on the budget chopping block
Created over 100 educator jobs to meet the needs of Chelsea’s students
As a Union Organizer:
Organized for the resources needed to invest in infrastructure and education
Protected seniors by fighting for adequate pension cost of living increases
